Look at the timeline below for an overview of the Maya period.
Our summer project is creating models using electrical power. We need to change the direction and speed of rotation of an electric motor to achieve the desired result in our model. We make fairground rides of various designs to achieve these goals.

Our spring term project is the distant locality of St Lucia, an island in the Caribbean.
Find out where St Lucia is in the world and find out about the animals you would find there by looking at the Powerpoints.
Year 6 visited Grafham Water for a 3 day residential visit in February. Activities included high ropes, Jacob's ladder, raft building, mountain biking, canoeing and sailing. It is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, learn new skills and work in teams to achieve a goal.
We were very proud that just before Christmas Shelford School won the Year 6 Literacy Challenge for the second year running. We were presented with the trophy by the Bishop of Ely in Ely Cathedral.
On October 5th Year 6 visited Ely Cathedral to be a part of one of the yearly Ely Cathedral days. This year the theme was care for other people and our world. Some of the children were able to join the orchestra and play in front of 700 people!
Our topic for Autumn term is the period 410 to 1066.
